1 in 9 people still suffer from hunger
Which agricultural model will be able to feed more than 9 billion human beings in 2050? How can we produce enough, fight poverty and preserve the environment ? SOS Faim is convinced that family farming can meet the major challenges of tomorrow: nutritional, social and environmental!
What does SOS Faim do ?
SOS FAIM FIGHTS HUNGER AND POVERTY BY SUPPORTING FAMILY FARMING
We work in two main ways :
- Strengthening the capacities of farmers in Africa and Latin America by providing them with technical, organisational and financial assistance so that they themselves improve their food, economic and social situation in a sustainable way and can ultimately become self-sufficient.
- Raising awareness and mobilising Belgian and European citizens in order to influence, together with our partners in the South, policies that have an impact on hunger and poverty in developing countries.
HUNGER IN THE WORLD
Of a worldwide population in 2018 of 7.6 billion, 821 million suffered from hunger and between 2 and 3 billion were affected by malnutrition. These figures were an increase on previous years. So now is the time to act ! You too can join the fight against hunger in the world and make a donation to SOS Faim.
